Common troubleshooting
My household isn’t syncing
Real-time sync needs an internet connection on both phones. If items you add aren’t showing up on your partner’s phone:
- Confirm both phones are online (Wi-Fi or mobile data).
- Open ListLedger on both phones and pull down on the list to force a refresh.
- Check Settings → Household — both phones should show the same household name and member count.
- If one member never joined successfully, re-share the 4-character code (Settings → Household → Share code) and have them rejoin.
- If that still doesn’t work, email us with the approximate time of the last successful sync and we’ll investigate.
I paid for Pro but it didn’t unlock
Pro is tied to the app-store account that made the purchase (Apple ID on iOS, Google account on Android):
- Open ListLedger → Settings → ListLedger Pro → tap Restore purchase.
- Make sure the App Store (iOS) or Play Store (Android) is signed in to the same account used for the purchase.
- If the payment shows as pending, wait up to 24 hours — some card checks take time.
- Still stuck? Email us with your store order number (Play Store orders start “GPA.”; App Store receipts arrive from Apple) and we’ll help unlock it.
I want to delete everything
To completely remove your ListLedger data:
- On device: uninstalling the app deletes the local SQLite database and all items, price history, recurring schedules and settings.
- From a household: open Settings → Household → Leave household. Your future edits will stop syncing. If you hosted the household, tap Delete household instead — this removes the shared data from the sync server too.
- Full server wipe: if you want us to remove any remaining data on the backend, email us from the account associated with your Pro purchase and we’ll handle it.
Barcode scanning isn’t finding products
Barcode lookups go to OpenFoodFacts, a community database. Some products (especially supermarket own-brand items) aren’t in it. If a scan doesn’t find a match:
- Check your internet connection — barcode lookup needs to be online.
- Add the product manually using its name. Your own product will be remembered for future scans of the same barcode.
- If you’d like to help, contribute the product name to OpenFoodFacts so other shoppers benefit too.
Receipt scanning returned the wrong total
OCR isn’t perfect, especially on creased or faded receipts. If the extracted total looks wrong:
- Tap the total field and type the correct value — you can always override the scanned result.
- Retake the photo in better light with the receipt flat and the whole total line visible.
Export my data
Settings → Export produces a JSON file with every list, item, price history entry, store and setting. Save it to your cloud storage, email it to yourself, or transfer it to a new phone and use Settings → Import to restore.
